A CAMBUSLANG woman has been selected to join a second tranche of recruits in ScotRail’s award-winning modern apprenticeship in customer service.
Dawn Cummings (20), of Cairns Avenue, joins 13 other 16-23-year-olds in the scheme, the first of its kind in the UK rail industry.
The apprentices will achieve an SVQ Level 2 in customer service - and also have the opportunity to undertake a Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as well as the prospect of a full-time career with ScotRail.
The 18-month programme, first launched in March 2011, offers valuable experience in three key frontline customer service roles - station booking office, ticket examiner, and on-train hospitality host. READ MORE
