Hometown Foundation wants to Build Lanarkshire New Town

A charity will submit plans to South Lanarkshire Council later to build an eco-friendly new town in the Douglas Valley area near Lanark.

The Hometown Foundation aims to build 3,200 affordable homes and business accommodation on a 2,000 acre site near the existing village of Rigside.

It believes up to 6,000 jobs could be created over the 10-year construction. READ MORE
