Record Entries for Awards Backed by Semta



The Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards have attracted a record number of entries – and a new headline sponsor.

Semta, the sector skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing, is backing the awards, which will be held at Glasgow’s Science Centre on November 21.

Run by Skills Development Scotland, the awards showcase those who have, through their involvement in Modern Apprenticeships, demonstrated initiative, enterprise and outstanding commitment to the improvement of skills development for the Scottish economy.

Brian Humphrey, national manager for Semta in Scotland, said: “We are delighted to sponsor these awards. They highlight the best of apprenticeships and show how young people get the chance to build a sustainable career while contributing to increased productivity through workplace training. READ MORE
