Modern Apprenticeships are key feature of wood commission report

Sir Ian Wood has released his first interim report for the Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce, stating the view that vocational training is an inferior option to university is “ingrained and ill-informed”.

Sir Ian Wood says “In 21st-century Scotland, both academic and vocational educations are critically important. We've got this horrible cultural thing that somehow everyone’s trying to see the ultimate success as being higher education and a degree, when our society and modern industry is changing – it’s a different world.”

Apprenticeships in Scotland are helping to change the view on Apprenticeships and have been named in the report as a template to help young people across Scotland the employers considering taking on young people into their business. We are proud to have contributed and been a part of this report.
